Dear Moiz bhai ( @cerwinvega ),
First of all, great initiative and excellent work - bravo!
Now, coming to my problem. I have a 2012 Civic Reborn (MT) in the family. The problems that we have been facing with it over the past couple of months are:
While depressing the clutch, it gives a grinding sound -- as if facing some friction somewhere. Now this only happens when the car is warmed up or has driven 5-10 KMs. For example, in the morning, when starting the car for the first time for the day, it won't happen for a while but then the sound will be back after having driven a few KMs. The noise is quite noticeable. The noise goes away for a bit if I constantly keep pressing/depressing the clutch (having the gear in neutral) in quick succession -- but would come back after a couple of minutes.
The car makes very very low knocking sound in the 1st, second gears while it is accelerating from 2000-3000 RPM (or decelerating). Now, I am aware of the knocking sound that a car would make when it is in a high gear and low RPM. This is not that sound. It's something else. The sound is also not from the tires because it would go away if I put the car in neutral (or just press the clutch) while driving.
Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the car's drive otherwise. No loss of acceleration (which I am told is the first indicator of the clutch plate going bad). The car goes on the motorway at least once a month, and has been driven in Islamabad only for the most part. Regular maintenance has been done. It has clocked close to 35K on the ODO.
Any feedback/idea on this would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
