Malaysia took an intelligent progressive approach in building its automobile industry. They zeroed down on one car maker, Mitsubishi, and built their sendan on the platform of one Mitsubishi, model. I don't know the exact name of it. They then started to modify the design on their own, much like Adam Motors is doing now in Pakistan, in cooperation with a Chinese car maker. Thats a very smart and intelligent approach, provided you have a strong partner. Too bad, Pak Suzuki could not have done the same in Pakistan, despite having the Suzuki of Japan behind its back for the last 20 years. Lets keep our hopes high for Adam Motors Now, a much needed new player in the market for small cars.
