    Hi Guys,
This is what people say about Honda Diesel Engine.

    2-liter to 2.5-liter: Honda Diesel 2.2 i-CTDi (Accord, CR-V, FR-V (103bhp))

“Driving it was a sensible experience, free of drama, full of practical tendencies and fresh technology”
    Matt Davis, Freelance

“Power, economy, sound – everything puts this diesel at the top of four-cylinder engines.”
    Tomaz Porekar, Avto Foto Market

“Smooth, powerful, torquey and economical – in every way a Honda.”
    Jack Yamaguchi, Freelance

“The Japanese aren’t famed for their love of diesel engines, but they sure can engineer a great one!”
Graham Johnson, UKIP Media & Events Automotive Magazines

“Highly refined and following the company’s proud engine heritage – it has the same star quality that oozes through the range”
Padraic Deane, Automotive Publications and Motorshow Car Buyers Guide

    @newmaverick
Well honda has just got into building diesel engines. So my point is it cannot be consider since it is not available in Pak. And I would not consider it the best diesel engine builder yet. Just my opinion!

I don't have to post my personal comment, this what they call its global truth.

World's most reliable and pioneering engines are from France (Citreon, Renault, Peogeut).

Remember Diesel are more popular in Europe than in Japan and US.

One more thing PSA and Toyota have collaboration for manufacturing small cars, diesel engines, and transmissions. Remember this came after Bmw stopped buying diesel engines from Toyota for its Mini and purchasing them from PSA (Citreon, Peogeut, and Renault). I do not know what it means but I think there has to be a mutual benefit.

Toyota make really gudd diesel engines such as popular 2c,3c,2L,2l-t,3l,1KZ,13B and many more. Ther new range of common rail diesel is really gudd almost soundless just like a petrol engine. But I think the best diesel engines comes from Europe such as BMW's tdi's nd naturally aspirated diesels, MB too produce some really gudd diesel engine in the past and present aswell 5 cylinder tdi is one of the best. LR's defender tdi engine is too gudd aswell. Nissan manufactured some really gudd engines in the past like RD-28 (one of ma favourite) & td 4.2.

As far as durability is concerned toyo diesel's r not the best in world, ya got bmw, reno, nissan, alfa romeo, mb etc..

Toyota surely is the volume leader in diesel car sales. commercial vehicles also do good in sales. Hino is also part of toyota, they are also doing good.

Europe is the main matrket where diesel cars are sold highest. What we have in Pakistan is like 1% of what Toyota or anyone else actualy offers.
I am not a die hard fan of toyota but when it comes to diesel they are very good, next is Nissan then Mitsubishi and Honda are relatively new in Diesel Technology, only one 2.2 is designed for CRV and Accord and it is doing good.

VAG (VW Audi Seat Group) by far have the best diesel engines. They are so quiet you will think they're petrol engines. They deliver top performance too.
the 2.0 GT TDI 4Motion VW Golf has 138BHP with 46mpg and does 0-100 in 9 secs

Well, think again..... a bimmer engine can be better in smoothness and performance. A BMW 525 TD can kick *** of an BMW 528i. Jeremy Clarkson (525TD) once proved it in his one to one race with Jenson Button (528i) in BBC Topgear.

Since we have started this, why not I join it too, lol!

No. 1 japanese engine maker is Isuzu, not toyota or anyone else but Isuzu. Isuzu is compared to giants like Cummins and more. These two companies are considered the grandfathers of diesel engines.
