Default What is considered a "Heavy Bike" in Pakistan?

    Hi Friends,

I often come across comments like "Heavy Bike" in Pakwheels.

I am curious to know what is considered as a heavy bike in Pakistan?
I mean how heavy a bike should be to be considered as "Heavy" in Pakistan?

    • 100 to 110 kgs?
    • 110 to 120 kgs?
    • or 120+ kgs?

Or if the looks are heavy does the bike also qualify as a "Heavy" bike in Pakistan?

Actually its got nothing to do with the wieght of the bike. You can have a 200kg 70cc bike but they wont call it heavy lol ....

People here refer to sportbikes as "heavy bikes" .... anything about 400cc I believe ...

A "heavy" bike is one whose capabilities FAR exceed those of its rider. Hence the definition depends on the rider. For some an old Suzuki TE100 is a heavy bike, while for others a Suzuki Hayabusa is a light bike.

The easiest way to tell if a bike is heavy is this: The"heaviness" of the bike is directly proportional to the distance the rider drags his feet when moving off.

Since the kids mostly see bikes between 70-150cc, they call everything a heavy bike that is above 125cc.

Would the Honda 'CG125 Deluxe' be called as a 'heavy bike' in Pakistan (by normal guys)?

most of the ppl living in pakistan, in my opinion, they have given the term 'heavy bike' only because of the looks of the bike. any bike from which they hear a very sporty kinda sound is considered as a heavy bike for them. then comes the looks of the bike. we dont have bikes such as rusty has posted, we just have the hondas and others which look like a woman coming from an area that had no food for years. that is just a skeleton with a little bit of flesh. but a bike with lots of flesh such as a gixxer or a 'busa is considered as a 'heavy bike' for many. the 'cc' thing is for the ppl who atleast have a little knowledge bout bikes. i believe many of u have had seen kids pointing out at some bikes and saying that 'look thats a heavy bike', and indeed it is, but they ofcourse dont know the engine displacement of that bike, they have judged it basically on its looks. therefore it's quiet easy to figure out that most of the ppl in pk have given this term 'heavy bike' to sports bike basically to the bikes body. while the 'cc' thing for heavy bikes applies to the people who hold knowledge about bikes.

    Default Heaaaaaaaaavy bike

Like said earlier, the classification of bikes here depends on how educated the person who is doing it is. But generally you can take the following (one or a combination) as a reason for people calling a bike 'heavy':

    - The bike being above 150ish cc
    - If the bike has a fancy fairing on it
    - If the bike has a big tank and tires
    - If the bike makes a nice roaring sound

I must also inform you that 'heavy' is the word used frequently in street lingo here. Think of it just like the terms awesome/crazy/off the hook/solid/A1/tight haha. So you might hear someone calling a CG 125 heavy just like that :p
