Thread: Tapit Adjustment in Chonda?

    Exclamation Tapit Adjustment in Chonda?

    Yesterday for the first time i go to the Mechanic for Chonda Tuning and he adjust the Tapit Without using the Strip which used to set the Gape between Cam Tapit and Value .. i ask y u did not use the Strip he said Chonda did not need that coz if i use it the Tick Tick Sound is gona come from ur Head thats y all the Mechanics did not use Strip for This? and right now i just Confused is this true ... Please Help Me

    this is called quackery..
    the gap is kept at .05mm for both exhaust and inlet,,so its a vvery small figure and one can easily mis it if proper feeler gauge is not used,,

    many mechanics in 70's - 80's used to do this when i was a kid. he needs to be an expert on engine.

    gap adjustment strip is highly recomended but those who dont listen, will not listen, even if you ban yr head with wall. .

    better is yu ask before what eqpt he has to do the task before opening the engine

    ^^ correct,,
    itna small gap andaza sa achieve nahi hotha,,
    take it this way one cm contains 10mm ,, and the gap is .05mm ,, in other words break a cm into 20 parts,, and the length of one part is what ur chonda needs,,
    improper valve clearance can cause a lot of damages ,, so u better next time ask a mechanic to use it or change a mechanic,, there settingas are some times accurate but most of the times i noted those to be wrong,, they were almost more then .08mm sometimes .1mm ,, hope this helps,

    Today i call the Habib Head Office in Karachi for the same problem they give me the Phone no of Authorized Dealer in Multan and he also do the same thing he said its the original setting of Habib that there is no Gap needed between Values and Tapit ... now where to go ...

    ^^ he is having new bike no need to check plates so early and open the case,,,
    however all that is needed i to fiddle with clutch,,it wll b ok,,

    Well i have this problem but i went to the mechanic told him the problem and he adjusted the clutch. I did not notice that what he is doing but after that no problem
