Question Need an honest opinion (CG 125 or GS 150)

    AoA Guys,

I am new here and I am in need of an expert and honest opinion from you all. I am going to buy a new bike, either Suzuki GS 150 or Honda CG 125...And I am confused as hell, really dont know what to do.....I like the shape and body of GS 150 but people say it has no resale and its parts are not easily found. I live in Rawalpindi.

Your quick responses will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Abu Hanzala

despite of the fact that cg has a better resale, please take a look at 1981 cg and compare it with 2012, u'll find nothing changed except lights and graphics. for Gs no doubt its a gud bike but again same look, not v common in Pakistan but its old fashioned.
Cg deluxe, unjustified price. Go for Ravi, price justified, looks are newer(at least not 30yrs old), features are same and in some aspects better than deluxe. and do remember the theft and snatch factor of honda.
rest all rights reserved with You.
Even if you put the resale aside, still every bike has its pros and cons. It all comes down to personal preference.
The way I see these "Pakistani Big Boys"

CG125: Still the only choice for acceleration lovers. Agile Handling. Cons are poor stability and braking at high speed.

GS150: Silent vibration free engine, good stability at high speeds, Self-start. Very soft shock absorbers which feel great in bumps, but at the same time affect the handling of the bike also, and if you adjust them to a bit stiffer for better handling, then already uncomfortable seat becomes even more uncomfortable because of more elevation from behind. Weak brakes for high speed. Seat make and angle is not very comfortable for long rides. Among these bikes, this one seems most vulnerable to quality control issues.

Deluxe: Agility+Stability at high speed Disk brake, Fuel Gauge. Comfortable seat position and angle (which is missing in both GS and Piaggio). Cons are no self start. Expensive??? I don't see how it is expensive if CG125 for 98K isn't. I wish Suzuki would put fuel gauge, disc brake and proper size tyres in GS150 and compete with Deluxe at this price point.

Piaggio: A complete package. Self start, Fuel gauge, Disk Brake, Gear indicator. This bike has got it all and that too at a great price. But it lacks in agility and seat position and angle same as GS150. Could have little quality control issues.

Go for GS if u wanna enjoy your ride at high speed without any discomfort don't even think about CG(classic) when you have GS as an option in your mind

bro, GS is a nice bike but ain't no racing machine. Jahan GS ki speed khatam ho jati hai wahan se GTO ka 5th gear shuroo hota hai
even a 250cc 4 stroke will have hard time chasing racing GTOs...

If you are going to sell your ride in a year or 2/Resale oriented--CG

If you want pure speed and not a commuting vehicle-CG

If you want a comfortable bike-GS

If you are not interested in selling your ride in the near future-GS

Gs 150 is overall superior than CG classic..Has higher top speed(imo)..Better for long distance commutes.CG has better resale, readily available mechs/parts OK for short commutes...

Ravi Piaggio has better resale in pindi than GS
The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers.
