Guys this is a poll to see who wants what I have few options just off the top of my head and if you like to give suggestions pls feel free to do so.
Here are the details on the options so far we can add or delete anything which is not like. So choose wisely and with the group in mind ( you can select more then one option if you like) So make your vote count:
1> Musanddam: located on the East side of the UAE belonging to Oman near the gate of Strait of Hormuz. This consists of 450kms in round trip driving on curvy roads along the beautiful coastline beaches, road, and mountains. Start time is 8:30am documentation is required passports coz it is a different country and visa is required also can be had from the border. Cost of visa and insurance is about 180aed not including the expenses of food or fuel and other expenses.
2> Off Road Trip: starting from Rak via Oman hinterland and ending in Fujairah. This is a purely dirt track through the Hajar mountains, make sure your spare is inflated and in proper condition. Documentation is required as there are border post through this area and they do stop you to check. 4x4 gear is required, track is through mountain passes, going upto 3000-4000ft then back to sea level. Distance is about 500kms (The Dirt track is about 60-50kms remaining is proper highway kms) will take most of the day and daytime should be used for more enjoyment. Start time recommended is 800am
3> Liwa Rainbow Sheikh Museum: simple road trip to the Liwa oasis and the museum, I am not sure what else is there to see but round trip of about 400kms. Start time is 8:30am rendezvous with the AUH guys at given point inbetween.
4> Jabal Hafeet Al Ain: This is again a simple road trip until you hit Jabal Hafeet and its curves, great place to do a BBQ. Start time is 8:30am or break fast @ Nirala Halwa puri and then head to Al Ain. round trip is about 320kms
5> Desert Safari locations are few (Kalba rd or Madam Very busy during Fridays it is like Sh Zayed Rd on Sunday Morning or Awir near the big round about or Emirates Rd near Umm Al Quwain or Ajman): Distance is variable depending on the location any where between 30kms-140kms round trip from Dubai Airport. Start time depends on the location selected it can be for few hrs of just bbq or a funfilled event with quad biking for the whole day.
All distance are guesstimates (meaning educated guesss) and are from Dubai Airport roughly
