Is there a possibility you arrange a Google hangout and the members can join. I am sure 1000's will join and it would be a nice experience meeting live. (H)

very simple stuff https://plus.google.com/hangouts?enfplm members can respond with gmail id and the organizer can arrange the hangout at some convenient time, may be sometime on weekends. google hangout can be joined from mac, windows, tablets and smart phones with internet connection.

hangout can handle many with video.. and its easy to join and works on multiple platform without installing anything..
