Default Honda CD 70 Engine Rebuild

    Salam,
I have got a Honda CD 70 (Breaker point model)
It has clocked almost 1 lac km on the odometer and now it has started giving me some problems which are mentioned below.
1: Alot of vibration in the body frame as soon as it touches even 60km/h.
2: Leakage of engine oil from the head. (My mechanic says the engine seals will be changed)
3: An irritating noise has emerged which according to my mechanic is the connecting rod.
4: A visible decrease in the pickup and the bike is making a lot of noise even running on low rpm,s.

Now the main problem is the piston replacement.
Currently its the stock "0" sized one and I have heard that when piston is changed then bore bara karna parta hai and blah blah.
I dont know what to do as someone is suggesting me to go for a bigger piston and others are opting against it?
What will be the advantages or disadvantages if I move to a size"5" piston or a size "10" piston
    Your valuable suggestions are required.
    And here is my bike.

    Nice bike Mash Allah.

Last week I have got replaced Piston/Ring Kit, Valves & timing chain Kit of my 1996 CD 70 It has done 75000Km on genuine 0 cylinder i got all thing replaced with Genuine (Atlas/Honda parts) from one of the famous Honda Anttena shop in Lahore & its like new again Alhamdulillah.
In ur bike case complete Engine overhaulin is required so i wud recomend u to go with Genuine Honda/Atlas parts & got it done from expert Honda mechanic Then it will give u another batch of several thousnad mile Insha Allah.
As far as Piston size is concern it doesnt matter alot. And if u r using Genuine parts I mean The original Genuine cylinder with 0.5 or 1.0 genuine Piston is much Much better then of 0 piston with loacaly sleeved cylinder. Since ur bike is not ruined in rough hand so i dont think there would be any major replacemnet required like Wieght, CAM & Gear set etc.

^ Thankyou for the appreciation Imran Bhai.
The major problem my mechanic says is the connecting rod.
Im not sure that what could possibly the reasons behind its faulty running but Im of the view that I should get each and every faulty part replaced because you cannot afford to get the engine opened after every couple of months for minor replacements

Also any tips to make it a bit a more quicker than it actually is?
It used to go to 80~90km max before this issue arised and I want it to touch 100 km/h.
Is there any way by which it can become a bit faster without any major alterations?

    @daniyal

90 Kmph is hell of speed for CD 70 neither i have done nor I will recomend for any alteration for this bike. & if u wana ride @ speed of 100Kmph than i wud suggest u to go for some bigger bike (100~150 CC) beacuase experince people knows that (CD 70 ko bhagana bohat asan hey mager rokna buhat mushkil ) & sepcificaly the older model till 1991 (with short rear swing arm) are very dangerous in terms of braking/Road grip.

    ^ Agreed,
It becomes really difficult to control the damn thing once it reaches upto 80km/h.
Ok lets leave the top speed issue.
Any method get the initial pick increased?
I think a bigger sized piston should do?

    ^ Thanks for the appreciation.
The estimate FC bhayya told me sounds pretty reasonable,
Im in RWP though so there might be a difference in prices here.

    @daniyalahmad,

of course once u got open the engine u shud go for replacement of all neceassary parts but keep in mind the if u want smooth running as new bike for coming 5 years then only use genuine Atlas/Honda parts for rebuild which will cost u more than any other parts but results would be superb for sure Insha Allah.

keep in mind that Genuine parts always last long & perfoms well irespective of their made (Pakistani made Genuine parts are better than non genuine Japanies/Taiwanies parts).

Bets of luck with rebuild of ur bike engine (Y)

Could be one of the following causing the vibration.

Engine Bolts all tight? Check and retorque them if necessary.

Swing Arm bushes in spec? check for axle looseness and if the axle has any play in it then the bushes will need to be replaced.

Engine studs/bolts, however, could be most likely the cause for the vibration felt.

    ^ Thanks for the reply
    I was thinking the same
the rear shocks and the swing arm may be needing a bit of tightening as the vibration is from the rear end.
    anyways thanks for the suggestion
I will recheck them and then let you know
