Default Santro Exec 2005 Generator Bearing and belt Issue, Please help

    Salam,
I am facing this issue for quiet a time now, 9 months back the bearing in my generator burst without any reason resulting in the jamming of the pulley on which generator belt revolves and the belt broke, I got the bearing repaired and it worked fine for 4 months and again while I was on my way back from multan to lahore the same issue occured while I was near pattoki. Thank god a local helped me as I was alone. Later I got the whole generator changed with a kabli one and changed the belt too. Yesterday the same problem occurred again, bearing bursting and resulting in breaking of belt. This time I went to a santro specialist mechanic Sikandar located on the wapda town link road he advised me to get the generator changed and also told me to change all the pulleys connecting belts as he was of the opinion that pulleys alignment is the issue of recurring problem. He assured me k " aap ye kerwa lain is k bad ager ye masla howa to mei free of cost ker k don ga kam chahay mujay new generator hi kiun na lagwa k dayna paray", I accepted the offer and I got the generator and pulleys changed, generator he changed was original santro as per his claim.
Due to this problem recurring again and again I am fed up with the santro which i loved so much, I am so afraid to take her on long routes that ever since the second indcident I have never taken her even to mozang etc. I have lost my confidence on her because of her reliability issues. Please help me out before I sale the car I once loved.

p.s: there is no issue with the engine, pick is perfect, so is mileage MashALLAh say. But this issue has shadowed all her good points and has lead me into thinking of selling her. Please please help me out

hmmmm, may be generator belt over tight or bad pulleys alignment if these things was ok in your car then check battery if battery is not good there is a big chance of too much load on generator and bearing going bad,and if battery is good then it's mean you have a small generator in your car generator running on full load all the time result in long burn or bearing will fail due to extra load ,change the generator with bigger one (high amp) this will definitely work

j12johny, Thank you for your reply, I have changed the pulleys this time around and changed the generator too. Why are you suggesting a change of generator ? I had original hyundai santro generator installed earlier and i have replaced with an original and genuine one. Dont you think changing the generator with higher amp will cause problem as it is not made for santro. Battery is working fine and i changed the battery 8 months back.
apart from that what do you think is the reason for the same fault arising again and again?

bro for i.e if your stock generator is 45 amp and your usage is 40-45 amp generator will work but it will not last longer because you are using 90- 100% power

higher amp generator will not cause any problem i.e (there is 2 things mention in generator are "volt or A" volt must be same there are 2 3 types of generator for cars "12v ,14v ,14.5v" if you have 35 -45A generator then chage it with 55-70A,
bro i telling you again volts of generator must be same for i.e if you have 12v never change it with 14v or any other "IT WILL BURN YOUR E.C.U OR MANY OTHER THINGS" always change it with same volt ),

i think stock generator was small for you car because every time you change the generator with original hyundai and i guess all generator was same amp to ,try DENSO or mitsubishi generator these are last longer and reliable

reason of suggesting changing generator ,in past 7 years back i have santro plus and i have generator problem to but it will burn generator every 3 to 5 months every time i drive long it will fail every time i change it with original one in last i fully diagnose car and calculate watts of every electric equipment and found usage of generator power is 80-90% then i change the generator and this time problem soved

car stock generator was very good and reliable but if you change car bulbs or using audio amp or ad some more elec equipment or changing elec wiring this will effect on you car generator

it's quite simple there is 2 ways you easily know 1st,if you have amp meter connect to batter + terminal it will show you or connect to generator hot wire (+ wire )

2nd if you don't have meter then you need 2 things these are 1st,paper 2nd,pencil like this

    head light 90wats /100watts + 90watts /100watts = 180wats/200watts
    if you have hid

    hid 3.7a+3.7a at 12v,14v = 7.4a @12,14 volts

    separately calculate amp and watts

in amper also note the volt

and start with your heads lights both point high or low , if you have hid then check Amp of both the blaster and write on paper
you need to note down every parts like fog light, parking lights, indicator, back lights, break light, indoor lamp, sound system power, and if you have audio amplifier then check its AMP ,car battery charge @ 8 to 12 amp and car e.c.u take max 0.5,2amp
