    Default Santro CNG Backfiring............ Again.

    AOA fellow pakwheelers!
guys my santro is backfiring like hell on CNG. airfilter cover pops up as a result of it causing power loss. but as soon as i convert it to petrol, it runs fine with a bit of rough idling. i posted my problem earlier aswell but didn't get any satisfactory reply. someone suggested to change the spark plug wires but i wanna tell that the car works fine on petrol with the same cables, its backfiring on gas only. went to these faisal town conversion centre guys in multan, he tinkered with the cng settings, which i can do myself, and the car ran fine for a few days but the problem is now persisting. plz help the rectify this problem.

P.S. don't suggest to change the airfilter, i change it after every 2000km and bought an aircompressor to clean it every other day.

dear i got the same problem with my santro. but consequently nothing went on positive untill/unless i changed my plug cables. it z just because of HT Cables Car needs maximum voltage on Gas if cables are weaker so this problem arises in Gas.

use 4 pin, plugs, bosch, or reduce the plug gap significantly.
try the plug thing first then try changing wires

guys i replaced the spark cables today with these 8.5 mm cables. my mechanic also wound a wire around one of the cable and attached it to a bolt and said that its a ground cable, its necessary for CNGed cars. is that okay? and i reduced the gap of the spark plugs from .4 to .3 mm as @hash4u said. will replace the plugs if the problem still persists. n the parts supplier showed me these 4 tip plugs, they weren't bosch or NGK, he said these r made in england. they were for Rs.225/plug. should i get those? n the car is running quite smoothly, i hope it stays like that coz i haven't driven it alot after changing the cables.

Final Solution is the Coil Change which provide the Current on CNG Conversion. I had the same issue in 2009. First the Tuning was done. Then the Spark Plug and The Wires were Changed. And in the end the Coils was changed. At that time the Price was Rs. 3600, for the original Coil of Hyundai Part.
