Exclamation Lost power and brakes while driving!

So something scary just happened tonight while driving my Liana.

It has been shutting off sometimes while driving for a while now and I have been planning to get it checked. But the bigger problem was, I lost brakes!

I lose power for 1-2 seconds.

I was crossing a chowrangi, the car dies (all power lost, engine and electricals), power came back but the scary thing was, I lost my brakes.

The brake-pedal would not push at all till I got the car started back. It was sheer luck that no one was ahead of me otherwise a small crash was upcoming.

What could be the reason for this? I am gonna go get this checked out ASAP tomorrow but it would be good to know.

PS: Its the Liana 2006 model, I drive on Petrol.

Could it be due to loss of the vacuum power assist if the engine was not running?

First thing first : resolve your stalling issues

Your brakes are fine, you just lost the assisting brake booster vacuum when the engine stalled.

You have only one brake press after engine shutoff. Use it to stop safely. Repeated tries will release the vacuum and pedal will become hard. Brake will still work but will need to be passed hard.

might be it is due to wiring problem... you need to check out your car's wiring.... may be some wires get messed up
