Liana, success or failure?

@lotus:agree with you....road clearance is an important factor in Pakistan.
This suggestion should also go to Civic and Vitz..they have same issues.

btw, don't many people intentionally lower their rides and put bumper extensions and side skirts to increase the visual appeal? this is by default inbuilt in every Liana, even most basic model.

colors are quite good in Liana...i like the eminent blue, grey and white the most.

what is the actual ground clearance of Liana? and how much is the cabin volume? compared to City's clearance (160mm) & cabin volume (city has a 1245mm cabin height)

I am using liana from past one year. No such serious problem in this car. Although QC is an issue which pak suzuki can improve. Over all its a good ride.

^ u own one right? so how is your experience with liana? i was having a chat with my mechanic & with the cng tuner the other day, about upgrading to Liana from my current cultus (whenever possible) both of them told me NOT to go for Liana, reason being that the engine is too complex and it runs good as long as everything is okay, and if some repair is needed its a hell of a task for technicians.. not too sure how much of this is true but the fact is, these kind of statements by the professionals sitting in the market are good enough to divert a consumer from making a decision in favor of a particular brand.. and guess what he recommended instead, the xli said its not that difficult to understand

@Usman bro, trust the un-educated mechanics or trust yourself and others who are keeping one, i have it for 2 months, believe me i cant go back to my spectra now

Pros=Liana has much smoother ride + its spacious, sitting/driving it is a joy, with beautiful looking cabin inside (Y)
Cons=Liana rxi has weak Brakes (almost like xli/gli) or maybe its because mine's tyres are finished (35,000 kms on Generals), Spectra had Excellent brakes (Y)

still havent gone to any mechanic Usman dude, it had new engine oil when i bought it, have driven it 2k kms so no idea about its engine's architecture, it has silent engine (Y)

Liana is going to be a huge success since, corrolla & city are priced very high. Highest price for Liana eminent A/T is 11.50 approx and it offer a lot, good interior, okay exterior.

I remember when the Liana was introduced in the US almost a decade ago, it had the most ridiculous dash i have ever seen. A small slit for digital speedometer info etc., and an awkward tall slant to it's styling cues didn't help either. Fast forward to PW, and from what i've seen of the Liana, the car had had a decent makeover and the dash looks real good and the engine is a proven mill from the Baleno. My question then is , why isn't it selling well in the Pak market?. It's got what it takes, IMO.

It has a very complex engine. I experienced this while trying to rectify overheating problem on one of my boss's car

Even THermostat cannot be cahnged without taking out the intake manifold

Taking the Timing cover off means taking off, power steering pump, main pulley, AC compressor and one foundation, AFter that there are around 20 bolts to work with.

If head gets deshaped there is not much room for facing as the timing cover is single peice and is a tight fit.

Nightmare for any mechanic as even a gsket change required engine to be taken out and if you try to do it without taking it out, its a 5 hour job to dismantle only.

Also heating problem is common as i found it in 6 7 oflianas around me all because of a stuck thermostat in close position.

These are some facts i wanted to share.
