...... In my view price increased by the Santro and Corolla are the sales gimmics. Govt was presurizing all manufactuers since 2-3 months to reduce their prices. News was hot that govt will either reduce tax or force them to decrease price. In order to nullfiy the future impact, they increased the prices first so that once govt will force them, they will again reduce the price. Thus the result would be no loss to the manufacturers. First this stragtey was adopted by Indus Motors, when they increased the prices of all corollas on may 9, Rs. 30,000/-, later santro increased the prices. Suzuki adopted the other strategy, and reduced the prices (with due sharafat) to save its future. This strategy suits to corolla a bit, but does a not suits to santro. For your information i am forwarding the confidential accurate figures of sales of various manufacturers of automobiles in comparison to previous year. Just see where the santro sales comes this year. I do have their monthwise production/sales figures too. Santro produced 209 units in Feb 2009 but sold only 58 and 15 produced in march 79 sold, 1 produced in april and 61 sold, 0 produced in may and 53 sold. They are selling from the stock produced in feb 09.

wrong in calculation, despite CA student. Why are u loading tax on tax. FED & GST both will apply on the selling price SP, i.e
[SP + (SPx GST) + (SPxFED)]=Final Price

right in thinking me as right. This is how it works . No taxation expert is needed.. SED, FED & GST all are always loaded on selling price. Taxes are never ever loaded on taxes but on base figure.

… only 1 day is left in budget. All the decisions are expected to come tomorrow. Even if prices comes down, the impact
in case of used car amounting to Rs. 200,000/- to Rs. 300,000/-
will be very less.
Ur
decision about the used car, depends upon
ur
budget. Cuore is the best and more solid, body wise but it will be expensive, then Mehran is a good ladies car, easy to drive and control, with cheap parts and maintenance.
