i used Lemans 185/70/13 Dunlop for four years, over a mileage of 130000km (noted). initially was really happy for switching from Bridgestone's 165/70/13 but later i began noticing the tires slip. this was later quoted not once or twice but several times on this site as well. whenever my brother drove the car he claimed something was wrong with the brakes and i had quite some stuff, though perfect, changed. it was all still the same. THEREFORE, despite the huge quantity easily available, i ditched the plan.
Yokohama, i'd say is heavy duty.
Nexen, left it because i hadn't heard much about it.
Hankook and the like, some claimed to be from China so out it went.
Michelin, yes, i'd rate them equal to Pirelli at least.
the ONLY reason i bought my Pirellis - and that too more expensive that otherwise available - is because of Storm.
he once stated, 'the only contact between you and the road is the tires which are equal to the size of four small envelopes so make sure you make the right choice.'
he reminded me that many tires in the open market are smuggled. there is NO knowing of their date of manufacture for who knows, they might just have been stamped in Pakistan for EVERYTHING can happen here.
the sole reason i was hesitant was because of the price difference - Rs. 4000 on five tires. Storm asked me consider the factor of an accident. it all comes out. even more. in fact i blame this for Dunlops slipping:

i know i said there i was using a mobile but i did brake. this accident cost me Rs. 6000.
