New vs kaboli shocks

hi,
please comment on new or kaboli shock absorber for civic. as the price difference is more than double, my mechanic was suggesting to go for kaboli one.
please advise on reliability and quality of kabolio absorber, which one should i go for?

good Kabali parts are as good as new ones.Since you paying half so this is obvious you should expect half as well.. but in general shocks which are not repaired and bought from a good dealer are worth every bit of money.

There is risk involved, but go for it as I put in my car and they are doing fine. Avoid repaired ones... at all costs!

It depends on the type of shock absorber: oil, oil-gas or gas charged, whether a used one will work just as well. Which model year is your Civic?

Actually the price is less than a half.

A pair of shocks for a Civic should be around 3.5-4max. What I know is that one shock absorber new is around 7-8k itself.(older one Im guessing since shocks dont go out in years)

They work fab if you get a good piece. Infact they are as good as new, considering stuff used to be a lot better build quality than these days.

civic 2006, well new pair is around 20k and tha kaboli pair is of 7k

my suggestion do not go for kabuli shocks
i was their(Kabul) for some time and hardly seen any civic their
so the seller may say its kabuli but in reality it may not

@2c kabuli means used one, taken out from old or accidented cars .. kabuli does not mean that they are brought from kabul......

kabuli ones are better reason they will cost less n are as good as new ones just do lil bit of hard work to find some good shocks...

shocks to brand new cars kay bhi kharab ho saktay hain bhai, depends on roads of your route.

Kabuli are best for the cars. Go to Shah Jee Axle (near maskan) or @ saddar.

i have changed my 2004 civic front shocks (gas one) in 4000 with replacement from shah jee ( near maskan)....but i am not sure that the replaced shocks are the genuine one or not...according to them they are genuine, i have just trusted their tongue...:)...but one thing i must say that their service and public dealing is so far very very impressive...

I've got civic 2009 . I just got it's front shock replaced. I bought kabli as it was cheap as compared to the new one. But now my car is behaving strange. It's no more comfortable. I'm getting it replaced. I would suggest to buy new ones.
