Problem is actually solved but the pain i suffered and experience i got wanted to share with you guys, maybe somebody else can get a benefit from this post.
I have a honda civic 1988 EX. As the car is old its fuel tank got leaked due to some reason i dont know some stone hit it or it got leaked due to rust.
I visited a mechanic to take out a fuel tank and if can make it weld for me and / or if there would be some way of repairing it. i was totally not known of the repair method. so the mechanic advised me that he has to take the tank out and send the tank for GAS welding (which is not recommend). i said OK send it and he told me that for whole work he will charge me about 600 hundreds.
Tank sent to welding shop and after a 30 minutes i heard a blast, and the mechanic came to me and said, he washed the tank 3 three times with water and even though it got blasted. i went to the GAS Welding shop and saw the tank it was badly swelled (bilkul phul gaya tha aur tank ki shape ek football jesi ban gaee thee lolz). When i saw that all i was very upset that what should i do now.
Finally i put the swelled tank in diggy and searched for the similar tank everywhere, Shersha, Garden, Plaza, but below are the results
a. Shersha i found one old tank same shape and model: 15,000 (yes fifteen thousand)
b. Garden: no one was getting agree to repair it
c. Plaza: contacted the honda head quarter in lahore via 'Selective autos plaza' OEM honda tank can be order which was costing around: 10,000 (ten thousand)
Finally i drove my car on CNG for about 3 months and got the final solution. My brother's friend told him to take the fuel tank to him, one of his friend is a denter.
he (denter) saw the tank and said he will charge 1200 and fix it. we immediately said him to fix it. and you cant imagine he fixed it in 3 hours only. finally it got fixed like OEM honda tank with no problem.
so if you find any similar problem please visit some good denter, denting is a skill and it is worth mentioning that our pakistani denters can remove any sort of dent. when we gave the swelled fuel tank to denter i asked him, if you need a picture of original tank i can give you but he fixed it without pictures and without seeing that how it was when the tank was all OK.
Thanks
