I dont know about hi tech mechanics - but I change them myself, with a simple jig to press the valves to remove the keepers. With the engine at TDC the 1st and 4th piston are at top - remove and replace their seals - as you remove the keepers the valves will rest on the piston face - hence no worry of valves dropping.
Once done - you can rotate engine carefully to align the centre 2 pistons no. 2 and 3 to TDC and replace their seals. When done - pack it up.
The pump timing is done by inserting a dial guage in the pump high pressure iron head and resting it on the plunger. It should have a little advance like 1mm at TDC.
