It is Charade (CB-10 engine) running on CNG (petrol system is not working), the car was working good until rains started.
Now the engine doesn't start in the morning and even afternoon if it is raining and temperature is little low. I crank it several times until the battery dies, then I towed it with a pickup, but it didn't start until the pickup pulled it faster (around 15-20 km/h!) and I pressed gas pedal hard.
Finally we push started the car but as I released the gas pedal to idle, the engine turned off! I restarted it (again by push start), and took the car to a stupid mechanic. He increased its idle speed, it worked but as the engine warmed up, I realized the idle speed of engine became too fast, the car was running pretty fast even I took my foot off the gas pedal. So we set its idle speed back to prior position.
Next day, same story, but I didn't take her again to that stupid mechanic rather I didn't remove my foot from gas pedal for 5 minutes until it warmed up and didn't stall.
Finding solution to the problem:
1] Electrician says: "SLUF BUHAT BHARI HAI, JAB ENGINE COLD HOTA HAI TO LOAD PARNE SE BATTERY DOWN HO JATI HAI, SLUF REPAIR KARWA LO, FIT HO JAYE GI"
- Yes, sluf sounds heavy while cranking the engine and sometimes it slips but it is strong enough to start warm engine. So I don't know if I should believe what he says or not
2] A "genius" battery service man said, "YEH 40 KI BATTERY HAI, AAP MINIMUM 50 KI RAKHO GE TO KAAM CHALE GA"
- That's right, the battery is old. I also borrowed a newer battery which was working perfect in Suzuki Mehran, but it failed to crank cold CB-10 engine So I'm partially convinced the battery needs replacement.
3] And CNG mechanic said, "KIT AUR TANK ME OIL HAI, TUNNING + SERVICE KARWAO, HALF SLUF PE START HO GI ISSI BATTERY AUR SLUF K SAATH!!!"
- I have no idea if he is true; I got it checked and found no gas leakage from kit or any joint, but there's some oil over CNG kit The fuel economy is excellent so far, it gives 25 + km per kg and pick is also good. Plus if this is the problem, the engine shouldn't start quickly after it warms up or in warmer weather.
4] Another mechanic "CARBURATOR ME PROBLEM HAI BHAI!"
- I think this is BUSTED. . .
