Projector Lights: Share your experiences

AOA everyone,
Can you people share your experiences about installing after market projector lights (pros and cons)
I am going to purchase one for my Civic 2000 (ek-9)
and if any one going to sell his projector lights; do tell me

bro my suggestion stay away from these lights,as these lights only look good but perform terrible no proper beam pattern
do a proper HID projector retrofit

the ones locally available provide really poor visibility. You can search the forums for retrofitting projectors, that is a way better option.

use to proper bulb size writen at the back of the projector to get the best results.
or you will not get the sharp cutoff and the beam starts to spread giving you poor visibility.
always go for the apropriate bulb mentioned at the back or the beams wud be useless.
if its h3 use h3 bulb, i had tried fiting a bigger bulb thinking it wud double the power but the results were worse.

I've just recently installed retrofitted projectors in my 1995 Civic. I'm using H3 HID lights, 55w ballast and 8000K temp bulbs. These are kabli projector lens' fitted to stock headlights. They look brilliant in day and night time. The throw is excellent, way better then your regular halogen lights. These literally light up the road like it's daytime. I have to get a few things adjusted in them, but still in the current state, they are better than halogens.

use 4300k, appearance ll be same (white color) but light ll improve drastically.

Yea I wanted either 4300K or at the max 6000K but the shop that I purchased the HIDs from only had 8000K and above. The price was good and the ballasts were what attracted me to grab these asap, they were the exact type that I was looking for. I'll change the bulbs later on, but I love the blue lights

projectors are cool to have and provide enough visibility with halogens but its very difficult to maintain them

I Agree 100% with u. They have the worst kind of Reflector chromes behind those Projector lenses. Its also clearly written on them that "Donot insert HID tubes inside" which clearly means that the High temp of the HID tubes ends up burning out the chrome film. These are Disposable headlights which when give poor visibility, should be thrown away. But In Pakistan, the lights end-up washed & cleaned up. Below u can see the Reflector chrome conditions & what i do is have them Re-Chromed in a Vacuum chrome machine & this imporves the intensity of light reflection iinside the chrome.
The chrome on the LEFT is the DEPOT light chrome of the Projector While The RIGHT is the chrome of a Mark X Projector

Below: i have scrapped off the old chrome & now these are ready for a new film of Chrome. Will Share pics when i get them.
