Back to the tune up......
I will just post a basic outline here:
Stuff ull need:
--Distributor point and condensor......change both at the same time. Use The German made stuff.
--Spark plugs....set of four. Get Bosch W8AC.
--Spark plug wires. Most probably ull need a set as often I see crappy wires on most 'normally' maintained bugs. Brazil made spark plug wire set is available and of quite good quality.
--Rebuilt/seconhand/new carb as we have already covered.
--Ignition coil must be in good shape and give a strong spark.
--Good quality engine oil. If the old oil is very dirty, its wise to first drain this, then put in some cheap unbranded oil, run engine for a few mins and then drain that too before finally putting in good oil.
--Engine oil drain gasket set along with a new filter as you might need to change the old one, if damaged.
Lets see......have I forgotten anything???
Ah yes....
--The distributor cap must be inspected for excessive wear, cracks or damage. Renewed as necessary.
--Same goes for the distributor rotor.
--A new fuel filter and some NEW GERMAN made fuel pipe. I must stress on the need for putting GERMAN made fuel pipe ONLY and not the cheap 'do rupay walla' suzuki ka pipe. Essential for preventing fires and so even at Rs 50 per foot worth thier weight in gold.
--You may need a new fan belt too if the old one is stretched or cracked.
