Agree motown Brother.
In reality, the taxis are the toughest most reliable vahicles in any country.
If Revo can pass that litmus test of reliablity under the garb of a cab, it will be a windfall of a success for Adam Motors. The cabs add up mileage quite fast, and go under most rigorous abuse day in and day out.
In Pakistan the black Datsun taxi of the 1970s, along with British Morris taxi of 1940s (probably), used to be everyday site, before 1990s, yellow cab scheme of Nawaz Sharif was introduced.
In my last trip back home to Islamabad two years ago, I have seen almost all the Suzuki FX 800s of 1980s as being converted to black color cabs.
Revo is actually more spacious than FX 800 or Mehran. The future is bright for our REVO, plus REVO has got 4 cylinders, versus just 3 cylinders of FX and Mehran, with same fuel economy.
More cylinders mean a more robust, longer lasting engine, as each cylinder in REVO has to put out 200 horses and has to work less then, compared to Mehran(FX)'s engine, which has to generate 233 horses per cylinder and therefore work more, hence, deplete its useful life faster.
There are other factors as well. The type of fuel used, petrol vs. CNG. CNG is dryer than petrol and cracks the engine seals faster and lessens the engine life.
In any case, REVO seems to have all the right genes. Wuling engines of China (Used in REVO) are also used exclusively by GM of USA for its GM brand cars sold in China. So, if GM can trust Wuling of China and stake its reputation and bet its future success on Wuling, then there is no doubt, Wuling is a trustworthy partner for Adam Motors in the long run. Specially since Wuling has agreed to transfer this engine making technology to Pakistan by year 2007.
