You have to be comfortable with body condition. Engine will need work for sure very soon, if not done recently.
You can change everything but body. So have a closer look at that.

    Just curious, why sportage..??

Depends on the sportage and the engine, I doubt if it has its orignal engine at 180k
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

850 is not reasonable for 2005 SUV with so high mileage. . .

Correction, 850 is not reasonable for a 2005 Sportage, Even 96 Surf costs more then 15-16 lacks. to my knowledge that also is a SUV

^^thats somthing made by toyota and its (i mean sportage) with stock motor(mazda originally) is just a ''crap''.
@poster i have some relatives who love kia sportage they buy diesel sportage and convert it by swaping 3s,3y engines. they had 4 of them last time i saw
btw 850k is way high for a sportage diesel prices are going high day by day so....u better know it

Thank you all, I like sportage for its shape, its not overly styled, I loved the drive and ride of my relatives one which was almost brand new, the fact that its done so much and as you say it may not be having same engine and price too steep for it have got me thinking.

In my case the vehicle will be sparingly used as a second car, any other such sized SUV you can suggest?

If I do come accross a well maintained sportage what should I look for besides body condition, what should be its price and preferred mileage, should I consider petrol/CNG convert?

I know it sound ridiculous but i just love this SUV.

Well our office last year sold the 2005 Grand Sportage (LCD wali) in just 650,000, only 65K kms driven and totally maintained at 3S workshop and 95 percent driven by chauffeur with foreigners in posh areas of Islamabad with just a few minor scratches which are unavoidable.
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.
