^^ True,
The biggest problem I have encoutered with MBz in Pakistan is that the owners dont believe in regular checkup and preventive maintenance. All cars are supposed to go through regular checkups and rectify any upcoming problems or replace wear out parts before they actually break off and cause other damage.
I have seen a W124 in Karachi with a bad shift modulator which was turned down to "hide" the problem, this caused the transmission to slip in the 3-4 shift and heatup the fluid which was never changed in the first place, Which then burned up the whole trans as the ATF broke down. Cost of rebuilding trans = high, cost of modulator 1/16 of rebuilding the trans.
Similarly in a 202 or 210 etc etc, take care of preventive maintenance and the cars will work fine - they are used as taxis in EU and in some countries they are only shutoff after a week of constant running.
As with any car - dont skimp and jugaarbaazi your car, if you require a brake job please use proper brake purpose grease, if you require new front wheel bearings in your MB please use a dial gauge to set their clearance and use only the correct lube, dont use aaloo and charbee processed grease.
