    Default Advice About Car Security

    Assalam-u-Alaikum

I have read horrible stories on PW about Cars (especially Altis) stolen from Garages. I wonder what security system is best to secure you car.

I have received the attached Advert from a friend today. Can anyone please comment on this please? I have removed the contact info from the ad, so that it doesn't look like I am promoting this.

    Regards

    Anjum

This becomes useless as soon as the jammer is applied.

I read it. Yaar Jammer simply jams GSM signals as well. Since you do not have jammer, so you cannot verify their claim.

Yes, i think so. It simply blocks the GSM signal. If this device uses GSM signal (as the heading suggests) then it will definitely be blocked.

as i said before at another thread, its useless yes this may become the reason for thieves to apply more time while getting the car started BUT! it seems to be a perfect fail as our thieves are intelligent enough as you know they can't be ''STOPPED'' even by a tracker though that results in to take some extra time to unlock, start etc the concerned car.
imo security things, locks applied apparently are helpful as a thief can see from car's window that it has been protected by the lock so in that case he avoids such car having apparent security pungas.
    @poster which car you got?

I have asked my mechanic, he said he can change the location of wire. Well if i opt to do so, i ll share it.

raza sb., I would highly suggest u get that done. Not just 'if opt'. This small thing can save ur car worth 2 million.
Either opt for the wire position change or transfer ur car's battery pack to the trunk. and put a shock sensor nearby which is connected to the chooo choo alarm system with its sensitivity set to high. Trunk does take some time in opening, as compared to the hood.

He said that will require a hole inside the engine bay. That made me think for getting it done or not. My car is comprehensive insured from adamjee.

hmmm. well, thats one tricky thing now. i don't think the hole will create much of an issue but about the warranty, it'll surely get void as immad said.

We have to think of some other genius way.

some1 suggested me to get a chor switch but make its connection after the battery so that no matter if the thieves try to direct it they wont get the current,n u can extent the wiring and bring it anywhere inside the car, sounds like a unique idea,he has done it in his swift as well

yes, that was the only thing which made me think about it. On the other hand i also had a thinking that "bhaar main gai warranty, gari to safe karo, gari ho gi to warranty bhi ho gi, agar gaari hi na rahi tou" (Allah na Kare).

Long long back, when i had SE Saloon, a guy suggested me that he can power the chor switch with an additional battery (bike wali), which will be hidden somewhere in the car, he said he will simply pull a wire from generator for its charging. Has anybody else been told with this type of option? he was electrician.

hmmm. well that thought came in my mind as well. did think of sharing with u but then, thought of thinking something more useful for you.

Baat tu ye sahi hai bhai k warranty is useful when u have the car with you. No car means useless warranty. Even if ur car is insured, still in case of any incident, u'll lose it, along with the hassle of claiming the insurance money.

Can u go to that mech again and ask him whether he can do the job with the minimal amount of opening and closing so that warranty guyz have to work a bit hard in order to detect if may be the wire position has been changed?

Or probably, u can go to some toyota 3s for the job. Cz afterall, its their mess u are trying to clean up.
