Not sure abt CNG or cheaper maintenance, but Vitz has the better resale in my view.

It seems nobody has assessed this aspect of the local and imported cars. If a comparison could be done, it would be easier for people to choose imported cars. Local cars have become so expensive, they must be stopped by some means.

well as stated above, Vitz/Yaris has a well established market.
CNG is not a wise option for CVT automatic transmission. But in manual trans you can install CNG, no problemo. However, majority of vitz cars (in fact all JDMs cars) i have noticed that they are being run without CNG. Particularly if petrol average is good then no need to burden your car and pocket with a CNG kit.
For commercial use, Toyota Hiace is much better. good for CNG, parts availability, service and of course good resale.

I believe that the cheapest to maintain are the Axio and Corolla X. The body parts might be expensive but underneath both are very similar to the local corolla. These have the same suspension layout and mechanical stuff. They have a relatively fair resale value as they are quite "in" nowadays. Regarding cng, only cars with CVT transmission pose problems. So get a car without CVT

The 99-04 Vitz takes leads in all categories.

Altho im still not sure about CNG, But cheap (comparitivly) parts and hot cake resale.

Toyota Corolla X & Axio all the way. Cheap and Easy maintenance..
