Question hi.. need advise about good economical car choice!

AoA friends .. i have decided to buy a family use car for just travelling within cities ( Rawalpindi - Islamabad ) .

    my priorities are

    1) excellent fuel consumption on petrol , i dont see any bright future of CNG in Pakistan so i want to run my car totally on petrol.
    2) Availability of spare parts
    3) good resale

please advise what is the best option in current Pakistan market?

    Thanks

brother If you have 6 in pocket then dont listen any body just go any suzuki showroom and get mehran euro2 ..i am using it for my university and it is giving me very good milage but keep in mind mehran is not comfortable car so u have to spend money later to make it comfortable like soft seat covers cost you 1500-2500 depends on you..i have civic 2010 but that is my family car then My father gifted me mehran euro2 2 months back as my 1st car for university and personal use after use of civic it was very difficult for me to run mehran but after 2 months now i am very comfortable..i added new sound system, seat covers,matts..i am very happy by its performance but again you have to compromise on interior quality and comfortability of car..This car will have 2 year warranty so no worry about car for 2 years minimum and you can extend its warranty to 4 years...i have very bad experirnce with JDM cars thats why my father bought this for me....now iam taking care of my car very well...

But if you like jdm then go for mira but i dont think so you will get mira in 6.
?Jdm parts are very expensine like airfilter of mehran is 250 and mira is 2500 ...now you can judge which car is economical..
whoever in pakwheel claiming that Jdm car will give you 18 to 22 or 25 km/l he is big lier..660cc will neer ever give you more than 13km/l...i am getting 17km/l in mehran mostly with 5 friends in car....Now its on you i tell you everything that i know..
    Thanks

Thanks a lot brother for your advise... so mehran euro 2 seems best choice among small car...

and whats your say about 2006-7 santro ... it also has EFI engine but it 1000cc but looks very comfortable to me .. no idea about its spare parts availability in market .. any idea about its average milage on petrol?

if you want economy, do NOT think about Korean cars..

Mehran is good on economy as:
    - car is light
    - engine is small
    - tires are narrow
    - engine power is used to drive the car only.. i.e. Little to no AC, no power steering, etc..

Keep these factors in mind if you want to go for Mehran. Also know that Mehran is high on the stolen list as well. So there is always a chance of loosing it if not parked and secured properly.. The brakes are not so good, build quality is poor.. bla bla bla...

Otherwise, you can go for JDM cars as some of the small versions give excellent mileage with comfort too.. The decision is all yours based on your personal preferences..

Santro, Cherry, Chevy, Korean, Chinese, etc wont make the cut on economy... I have tried them all...!!

Mehran is good option bt breaking and suspension are very bad.... Go for alto/pino 660 it will give u about 15-19 km/ltr depends on ur drive good in suspension breaks are good and keep summer in ur mind :p AC....

If u r going to buy alto/pino that should be with full options like power windows, ABS, etc
and check the car deeply even under the seats there should be no rust and car should be freshly imported even demand for the transportation receipt every thing will be mentioned on carriage transportation receipt. u will enjoy the drive... Best of luck
Take it easy driving!! THE life you save may be mine.....

Sure you can add a break booster to your mehran so that you don't need to press hard for braking every time and gives you overall improved feeling. But plz confirm if there is enough space available to add brake booster in EFI variant as well. I am attaching picture for your reference.

I love coure but I think it does not come with EFI engine... One of my friends juat suggested to buy cultus 2007 - 2008 model with efi .. It price should be around 7 .. But its out of budget ..

So mehran euro seems best option but this car can never be used for long drive .. Thanks everyone

Consider a used cuore. It will satisfy all your needs. Mehran is not at all safe when it comes to braking, Handling.
Cuore is more comfortable than mehran, Fuel consumption is 15km/l in city. Parts are little more expansive than mehran.
Ac, Pick, Handling, Braking all are far more superior than mehran.
Don't go for santro. It's not comfortable and rear seats are totally crap. Plus it drinks petrol like hell.

i dont have any idea of santro...bhai if you are worring about mehran brakes then its answer is yes you are right but you can improve it ..you have 1 more option that is nissan pino .it is very good car but again spare parts are expensive...
when i was planing to buy car then my uncle in lahore told me that you can easily get 2007-8 model cultus in 6lac from lahore .
If you have friends or family in lahore then take tour of lahore you will get proper family big car...that will be much much better then santro...
