On Japanese 660CC, has some body dare to traveled from Islamabad to Multan, or

hi guys,

Eid is coming soon, and many members will be planning to reach their sweat homes via their rides what they have. I want your technical suggestions in view of titled of this thread..

As you know, this is a long journey that have different types of road, and the route most probably is best for sedans like cars that have big shocks, big pistons, wider tyres with good road grips etc. the cars could be starting from 1300CC (local made), and 1000CC ( Japanese)

Rather than if someone plan to travel with small cars e.g. The Japanese 660CC ( Daihatsu Mira, Alto, or Mitsubishi) these are Called Kei cars ( city cars). that has small engine, comes with stock tyres (no alloy rims etc.)

How you would see the impact ( tear and wear) on these small but luxury cars on such long routes even on motor way, a straight run on 250 Kms patch.

Will you recommend or not with 660CC, and why?

Go ahead this should not be an issue. We once went to Lahore on Honda Life and that was not tiring or any other issue, Yes it cannot keep up with big car's on motorway but no issue if we arrive 40 or 50 minutes late

Drive in between 80-100km/h speed and you will be okay. i have traveled to lahore on my 660c and it was a smooth drive for me.
I also have traveled via motorway and car is just okay only if the speed in maintained below 100 mark.

My friend travelled from quetta to Rawalpindi through multan on his alto 660 ( PKDM type shape)..Auto trans.

Faced no prob, he was all alone and surprisingly he filled the petrol tank upto neck from multan and then he filled it again from rwp..no refill in between.

Total capacity is 27 liter.

^^ OP: Brother don't worry and take the car out for trip. Just check necessary maintenance and you are ready to go. I have been traveling Multan-Faisalabad on my 2011 model Mehran and I never faced any issue (Alhamdulilah).

JDM cars are more better then Mehran in Terms of Brakes, Grip and Power Options So don't worry. Remember one thing, its not the car itself - its man behind the wheels.

Yes they can go very easily even beyond Pirsohava on Off Road Track as well

Once i had Nissan Moco 2003 660cc i took it far above Pirsohava

On vry high slopes u can shift the Transmission to D2 or L no prob at all

That indeed helped me to re-think to travel with my 660cc ( as an experiment )

Based upon your opinion, the good way to handle this traveling is

1) for motorways, take 2/3 rest, and keep max speed in between 80-100

2) after motorway, just keep driving at normal speed, and do not take un-necessary risk of over taking in rushy ques of trucks while you see AC coaches and trucks rushed from the opposite directions . I think that is the real test of driving with small cars when there is no rule of driving on a single or off-road

Come on Mr OP..... Although they are called Kei cars.. But focus on the 2nd word i.e CAR .. These are also CARS.. And cars are buit to commute and be driven..
When i was taking my Alto660CC to motorway from Lahore to Isb for the 1st time, Before touching motorway, i asked my cousin who was in his civic and was going along to ISB in his car " Keh Yaaar ziada tez na chalaien , bas 80 - 100 par jaien *** " WHY ?? Because that was the first time i was taking that car to Motorway.. believe me as soon as i touched Motorway, I realised that this car can easily go to 120 and i continuesly kept it on 120, Throughout motorway.. In the meanwhile i recieved call from my cousin k yaaar " Tu ajeeb hai , mujhay 100 par karwaa kar khud ab nazar hi nahi aa raha " Anyways, since then i,ve travelled around 4 times to motorway out of whcih 3 times it was on continous 120 from Lahore to Isb and that too with just 1 stop for 12 - 15 mins... the fourth time i drove it continuously on 100KM/h exact ! the only difference i felt was the Fuel Economy. It was a huge difference when it was driven on 120 Km/h and when driven at exact 100km/h ...
So please stop under-estimating these 660 CC cars qne take them whereever you wan.
P.S = 5 of my colleages went to naran , Kagahan on a Nissan Mocco.. And they said that the car was quiet easy on the harsh terrain.

There is no issue on the long routes, i have been to lahore several times on my Esse, Sialkot to lahore distance is around 135kms and it took no more then 2 hours, on motorway my constant speed was 100+ and max i went to 135km/h, the control and balance was as smooth as a big car.

As much as i know, there is absolutely no problem. You are talking about new efi engines with good reliability and fuel efficiency. My friend traveled to mailsi, from Islamabad on an old Alto. Just check your cars fluid levels and tires.

had 2 trips to Peshawar to Lahore and Lahore to Peshawar in 660 CC Mini Pajero with AC on All the way, in second trip also pulled a coure from bhera petrol Pump to till mureed Kay interchange without any problem.

I travelled from Islamabad to Hyderabad and came back (Driving alone) on my Mira 660 without any issue. Go ahead, if you know your car.

dear i was use 3 times suzuki alto 2015(Turbo) very well maintain vehicle in Lahore-Multan road with AC in June to September (fresh oil and air filter change). i almost start my travailing on 9am.
In my first trip i run my car on 120km/H speed almost 1 hour then vehicle heat-up and i stop my car almost 25 minutes. again i run it 100 to 120km/H and then face same issue.
in my second trip i travel with 4 persons and their luggage then on 100km/h speed after an hour car again heat-up. my friend owner of daihatsu mira 2013 model ask me not use these cars above 80km/h speed continuously on highways because he also face these problems in past.
After my third bad experience i was sold this car and purchase Vits 2012 model.
