Default Civic 2003 Remote Unlock Problem

I am unlock the car with the remote but i can lock it. I have tried changing the batteries on the remote and it didnt help.

Also the Remote got 5 buttons.
Top One got a Lock icon so we all know what it does
    Second one below got Unlock
Third button I don't know what the icon is.
Then there are 2 small buttons One got a bell (so i am guessing its the alarm) and the other one is a mute speaker button i think.

Can anyone tell me what the third button is for .. and how to get the unlock function back ?

    Thanks .

May be the circuit under it, is faulty. Try to unlock the car with spare remote control. If you does not have a spare, time to change the remote

Trunk opener feature can be activated. All it needs a gun just like in doors and wiring. Total cost is less than 500. I have done in my corolla

Do you hear the tush sound once u press unlock(that the message is received?) or no. If yes then check the opening mechnaism of door. their is a cheap plactic pulley which gets damagaed with time. If no the button (micro switch) on the remote may have soldered. try a repair or replace.

I took it to an electrician .. who tried to reset some fuse box (under the steering) and then told me that the box needs to be replaced but after i left the workshop .. It started working automatically (most of the time).

I took the car to the electrician . He reset the controller by unplugging a fuse for a few min and now everything is fine.

The fuse is located under the steering

    thanks for the suggestion
