    Default Hyundai santro in 2014

    Hello Pakwheel gang!

    I have a budget under 6 lacs and going for a used Manual Santro Exec. I would like your valuable opinion on the following;

    1. What is the future of this car? Would spare parts be difficult to find and maintain?

    2. Is the Exec version better than Club?

    3. What is the feul economy when run on petrol? I want to run it on petrol.

    4. Which year model can I expect to get?

Anything else I should consider when buying ?

    Looking forward to your replies!

    1. What is the future of this car? Would spare parts be difficult to find and maintain?
The Future of this car is little bright now because Dewan Farooq has started their operations in Pakistan. The spares of any car is not very difficult to find as now still there are many varieties of spares are present.
    2. Is the Exec version better than Club?
The only advantage which i feel, is that Exec is Power Steering. Well thanks to our respected mechanics you can convert any car's steering to the power steering, if you want to convert go for HPS not EPS
    3. What is the fuel economy when run on petrol? I want to run it on petrol.
Well i had santro 2006 gv model. the ideal mileage which i got on petrol was 16/litre with light foot in city w/o ac
    4. Which year model can I expect to get?
You can find a decent model of 2006/2007 but mainly 2006, 2007 will be little rough used one.
Anything else I should consider when buying ?
    Can't suggest anything.

What a point by point reply. Impressive! Thanks Talhab.

Dewan group has restarted production? I heard they were clearing old stock. Great if thats the case. Any official source confirming this?

So should I go for the earlier version than 2006/2007? I dont understand how they will be rundown? People go for a much older vitz if they can get their hands on one.

I will not say anything about the earlier models as i have not kept any of them.
I had Santro Gv 2006 model and my experience with the car was excellent, it was a little monster if its engine and other parts were kept up to date according to the maintenance record. Yaar i think in your budget, any other car with new model can not be found. Find a decent car in the price range of Rs.500K to 525K, keep rest for maintenance purpose.

Haha. Yep can't dish out more than 600,000. Great advice though.

I know I cant get a newer model. I first had my sights on Vitz then a Nissan March aur ab thak haar kay Santro. Had my reservations about spare parts n maintenance though. Not much choice in the small car range my friend. Im at the classified section everyday! Lets hope i find a decent ride.

Brother, the Santro is a good car for a person with limited budget. Regarding parts, original spares are little expensive but you can find kabuli parts in this car in a reasonable price range.

    1. What is the future of this car? Would spare parts be difficult to find and maintain? future is good firsts the clear the stock in 2014 around 300 car but now production of santro n shazor start again, by contacting Hyundai twin city n dewan motors you can find the ans of its production start again(google for contacts)

    2. Is the Exec version better than Club? Exce have 4 extra features power windows, power mirror, fog lamp n back spoiler, n in new car company charge 1 lakh for these 4 items.

    3. What is the feul economy when run on petrol? I want to run it on petrol. 13-19 with ac

    4. Which year model can I expect to get? 2004-5 exce petrol 5-6 club petrol in 6 lakh this price is for well maintained n crystal clear cars, if 2-3 pieces touch then you get these cars in 5 lakh, n if you go for cng version keep in mind gv version is 20K expensive as compare to after market cng car. in gv version you can use digi n cng both

Anything else I should consider when buying ?
i suggest you go for gv version club or exce, santro is best ever choice in small cars, just you need a well maintained car.

    Looking forward to your replies!
    Any thing left ask me

What is the GV version? Im a nerd when it comes to technology.

Also, does the AC work average, good or just OK?

GV version is the one with 3 CNG Cylinders, adding up to 42kg. They are concealed, where your spare tire usually is.
Because of that, you have to keep spare in the boot or you can buy the Inflating kit which comes in most JDM's.

A 12V air pressure compressor + pump is available at Metro- Cost like 3000-/ and runs on your cars Ciggie lighter. the B&D one runs on your battery. The gel is available at junk yards, if I can remember correctly.
Turbo lag is like foreplay. You know it's coming. And it's gonna be good.

    Missed the last two.
@faiz Aslam and @CH- what difference does a GV version make if the car is run on patrol only? Apart from the resale value. I wish to keep it for a good few years initially.

Also if you have owned this car any pros and cons of driving it would be great.

Also if you are driving Santro AND tall (how tall?) Are your feet uncomfortable as the article writer described?

most people think that leg space defines comfort, more factors should be considered like where are the controls are situated, if you have long legs . i'm 5'10, skinny. i drive a corolla gli auto as my daily ride, but i had to go from sialkot to sambryal twice a day on my khyber and santro for whole may. i had the choice of taking my khyber or uncle's santro(both cng). santro is a good city car but its driving position justifies only for bumper to bumper driving(you have to sit a lil active, more upright in other cars) but when you go above 40km and start to get comfortable, santro sucks bigtime. your posture doesn't get better than a rickshaw driver. on khyber i have to sit upright but once the traffic starts to flow, i'm in a laid back kinda position and it is very comfy for long rides, paddles are easier to push, and leg space is enough for me having to move a lil forward to floor the clutch if the my seat is at full back position(only 60-70% paddle can be pushed.

the best posture i have found yet is of daewoo racer, its paddles are always easy to reach, steering position is good(although the one i drive has developed a dead spot in center, so more input is required to take the turn) and best of all visibility is damn good. i have to take a tight turn through a small gate keeping an eye on the front bumper(not literally but still have to move forward), while i can do this in daewoo in laid back kinda position.

I disagree with you a little brother, i have driven almost all the cars available in Pakistan till the category of 1.8L, the solution of this problem is that just lower the back of the seat and you are good to go.
