anyway nice car!drive safe.but i must say after driving charade mehran is a disappointment!!charade was way better if u would have installed a good engine in it having new ac and interior!suzuki is just ripping people!!!but at the same time i do understand that theere is no option to buy any other brand new car in 5 lacks : (

26 years down the line is a lot of time sir. charade cannot live for ever in the challenging road and traffic of karachi , shortage of spares and absence of mechanics. how many times will u go to sher shah and look for parts to restore it to its orignal. come to think of it there was nothing wrong in my charade but lets face it age took its tol and the parts no matter how good they are have aged. i cannot go into every nut and bold. so to say there is no genuinity or warranty on the used engine i buy .even a used engine would cost 50000 so to say.the ac was good for its age .

suzuki is not ripping people off. we the people have created a perception which is negative. please try to understand the cost of raw materials it takes to build a car then all the taxes levied on the company.our country is going through a tough economic crises and we are in no way a developing country.

believe me it feels great seeing all the nuts and bold shining , the ac is very nice. it runs good on petrol. 20 litres was almost full tank. cng is a bit of a drag but that probably cause im not used to cng. gear shifting , light beams and breaking are not too good but bearable. i spend nearly 5.5 lacks and i have a peace of mind MASHALLAH. i know i have a good service centre, ample spares , excellent fuel avg, safe drive as i do not impersonate micheal shumacher and drive in my limits of max 80 km.I should have bought this car long ago.

i'm going to have to agree with you on these ones...

i disagree on both points sir

1-ac blowers didnt matter as the ac is very good for its class
2-ive seen people crying when their fuel injector systems wear out and they bear the cost.ive seen the fate of so called quality used japanese imports when they get abandoned due to parts , solutions and resale. not everyone has time to go to sher shah , bilal gunj or quetta and that too for a used part??? ohh i guess the orignal new part is toooo costly???

why should i buy someones used liability?? And spend a good fortune on it?

A used car is a used car and a new car is a new car no matter what .

sir my mehran is zero meter so case closed. a second had car is someone elses liability.The alternative u are talking about are all USED cars.i checked the whole of karachi and trust me sir the used cars were not cheap.you need to realise our demographics, physcographics and situation then you will realise mehrans sucess.

dont salute the dealers. Its all about the consumer and their needs. Majority of our population for car purchase is middle class so mehran is the obvious choice.

1-This Khan guy sure took his frustration out on my mehran. its ok he doenst have to like it. Im more amused of the fact that Storm agrees with him.

Suzuki is ripping ppl of coz this same Mehran under the name "Maruti800" is selling for ~4-4.5Lakh PKR in India and it uses an MPFI Engine

lack of competition means Pak Suzuki can charge as much as they want for Mehran and give as little value for money as possible

whts stopping them from putting in an MPFI Engine and atleast better brakes in a car they have been manufacturing for around 25 years now

imo 5 Lakh is a very large sum of money and the car we get in return does not give full value of tht 5 Lakh

we can get a much much better Zero Meter car if it werent for Chor Bazari and monopoly

ofcourse every car in Pakistan is overpriced but in upper segement atleast there is some competition which keeps Price/Features in check

btw i still dont understand how u sold a Cuore to buy a Mehran

India is selling alot of quality items for value especially their Tata line up. No comparision here.Theres a fine line between both our economies , literacy rate and advancement. I do not wish to go into detail how ever what you are suggesting is the ideal situation of upgraded technology . carb engines are not so bad especially when it comes to maintainence. what else do u get in 5 lacks thats BRAND NEW???
As far as competition is concerned is coure priced at 7 lacks or cherry qq or any other car offereing u value proposition?Similairly used mehrans or coures even ones claimed to be less driven had a bad history with meter tampering and i just didnt have the heart to buy a used liability. the reason to sell my coure was that 4 years of service was good now i need to move on and im planning to get a japanese liana 1.6 or an eminent. mehran was replace ment for charade.

if Mehran gets competition in the 5 Lakh Rs bracket PakSuzuki will fit it with MPFI Engine and add a few more much needed tidbit or they will reduce its price for sure

as for Carby Engine they have **** poor Fuel Economy
compared to Fuel Injection engines
and Fuel Economy is top priority in countries where Fuel is expensive

most recently developed 1300CC Engines have better Fuel consumption than an 1982 Carby Engine

im planning to get a japanese liana 1.6 or an eminent. mehran was replace ment for charade.

I think the anger is justified on PS and public policy, but not on the buyer who wants a daily rider without stopping him on the way or spending too much time in workshops. Local assembled Car(t)s are expensive and used imports are even more. You were lucky to find reasonably priced used import some four five years ago, but not anymore.

People will continue to suffer bad cars at exorbitant prices unless they organise and form consumer groups. As long as we have current set or rulers, policies and governance we are bound to suffer like this.

Someone suggested that people should stopped buying local cars, then what should they buy in their already overstretched budgets when imports have been made so much costly by the government in the name of protecting local industry and jobs. But in reality they are filling their own pockets and let these companies do whatever they want to. No emphasis on basic safety features. It is a sad situation.

don't know how u ppl feel happy with 1980's Technology? dude if u buy 1986 Alto & 2010 Mehran VXR, there is no difference in the same + Technology, but the quality of 2010 Mehran is tooooo low,
