Dear All, If a car is being sold with duplicate papers due to loosing original, how do you check to verify if the duplicate book is indeed genuine? Does it affect the selling price of the car?

Checking procedure is same for duplicate or original book. And yes, a duplicate book does affect the selling price.

Plus all Sindh Registered cars duplicate books are stamped with a big stamp as "DUPLICATE" , dont know about Punjab cars.

When a new owner buys a car, isn't a separate/new book issued in the name of the new owner?

whiteangel, price is affected by how much, any idea?

simsim, I think, in case of the old/non-computerized registration book, the transfer is done based on a transfer letter and the new owner retains the original book along with the transfer letter. In case of the new/computerized registration, a new book is issued in the name of the new owner upon transfer.
