Why is it that in Pakistan public policy hardly ever benefits the public?
I would say that most of the people who hang out at PW are elitists, including me of course. We have the tendency to look at the issues from an educated and well informed perspective, which is not true for most of the populous. They tend to follow the pattern of a heard. Our beloved politicians are the herdsmen. The heard never questions the authority or the intelligence of its herdsman; all it knows is to follow orders. Any strays are wiped into joining the rest. This is reality.
If all members of PW, all 60K+, decide to stop buying new local made vehicles, what difference would it make in the overall sales? It would be a step in the right direction but the forces responsible for the current crisis may not budge.
Next time around, elect better people to hold all public offices and we shall see how much real potential our country has.
