actaually the price hike is linked to jpy/usd hike....
jpy touched a 13 year high abut 2 months back... against USD....
whenever a currency appreciates...the exporters suffer a LOSS.!!!
whenever a currency depreciates the exporters gains profits.
example...
the current USD/JPY hike in JPY...earns lesser japnese yen to the japanese people cause their own currency as appereciated.
if the japnese yen depriciates....the japnese exporter would gain profits as then the dollar based orders would buy them more local currency.
just like if the dollar is 80 in pakistan now......is beneficial for exports...
as for example you were exporting one product for 60 previously....and now you are exporting the same product for 80 now....
i hope this helps to understand the main reason of this hike.
