@all
For those of you who don't know, India ITSELF became what it is right now. They stopped importing cars for MANY year. I don't know exactly how many but it was something like 20years i think. THAT is how you make your economy strong.
The fellows are right who are saying that we should start appreciating our products even if they are of inferior quality. We should be proud of ourselves.
As for the BIGGEST issue i.e. the resale value. There's a personal assessment i have done. I am using the example of mobile phones:
On one hand, you buy any original mobile phone and say you get it in 10,000 with 1 year warranty. You use it for a year and then sell it off for the market price at that time let's assume will be 6,000.
One the other hand, you buy a chinese copy for that for 5,000 without any warranty. You use this one for a year as well and even if chinese set's don't have resale, you won't get ZERO right? You will get at least 1500.
So point is, the original one had a one year warranty and you sold it at almost 50% the price after that one year. Whereas, the chinese one didn't have any warranty and you sold that at almost 50% as well after one year. And say EVEN IF you don't get ANYTHING for the chinese set, you lose ONLY 5000 which you will lose anyway when you sell your original set.
So it's more like if you intend on keeping the phone for 2+ years then buy the original one. And if your intention is SELLING later on, then why not SAVE the money, and get ALMOST the same features in HALF the price?
So just to put this example in cars, if people buy cars with the intention of selling it off in 3-4 years, then why not go for a local made one instead? But if they want to keep the cars for 8-10 years, then yeah it can be argued that it's better to get Honda, Toyota etc.
