Today, Mercedes "accidentally" dropped the first official image of the facelift version CL63/CL65 AMG models. While there are no details on it, it is rumored that the CL63 AMG will be powered by the same 544 HP 5.5-liter V8 engine found on the 2011 S63 AMG. The CL65 AMG is expected to carry a V12 engine that delivers 612 HP.
This image reveals a slightly sharper-lined grille, a different set of headlights, and new LEDs in the headlights. There are also two extra lines on the hood of the car. So, yes, you are pretty much looking at a S63 AMG Coupe.
If Mercedes’ goal was to take an old model and sharpen it up to create a more focused and clean look then they have succeeded. No, there are not many dramatic changes that will make a lot of people squeal with excitement, but they were able to clean up a nice model and make it that much better. No extremes, just clean cut improvements. Maybe this was their way to provide the market with a better model of the CL63 AMG and CL65 AMG to go inline with their new "The Best or Nothing" campaign.
Stay tuned for more details!
