Ford rumors were recently out in which Ford was expected to launch of its very new 1.0 litre engine. Although for countries where the Ford regime dominates, this news had rumors prevailing that Ford lovers were expecting ”Hey, this small engine might not go too fast”.
Ford turned the tables when the news was made official for its upcoming cars. The Engine is Ford’s smallest engine termed as Eco-Boost. It is a three cylinder 1000cc force induction engine and ford promises that it can produce the power of a 1600cc. The specs of the Engine are still under curtains and are expected to be revealed soon. The technology the engine carries consists of the following:
- Offset crankshaft for improving fuel economy
- Independent split cooling system in which the cylinder block warms up prior to the warming of cylinder head. This saves fuel during cold weathers.
- Exhaust manifold head integration which ford claims to “allow low exhaust gas emission temperature, allowing better air-to-fuel mixture ratio.”
- Direct fuel injection along with a Ti-VCT variable cam-shaft timing present for both intake and exhaust
- And finally, as the boost term suggests, TURBO-CHARGER
Ford plans on replacing their current 1.6 litre Ti-VCT engines with these turbo packed 1.0 litre engines. Lets just see if the specs are out sooner. And after a major 1.0 Litre launch, ford should focus on setting up their plants in third world countries to become a part of the most dominant brands.
