The Chinese writing on the number plates is the province abbreviation. 京 (pronounced jing) stands for Beijing. The next alphabet A is for a district within Beijing. For example, the Rolls has 鄂 (e) which stands for Hubei province. The A stands for Hubei's capital city Wuhan. The other numbers are computer generated and follow no such sequence.
