Hello people,
I'm in a bit of a fix right now and would appreciate if someone could talk some sense into me. So I was a big fan of Homeshopping, bought a couple of phones from them and referred them to almost everyone at work who was looking to buy either a new phone or a tablet. Ultimately, a lot of my friends and colleagues did buy from them. And I mean alot of folks.
Anyways, I bought an HTC Explorer from them a couple of months back. Recently it started to just heat up for no apparent reason. Restart the phone and it would be fine again. Then one day while I was asleep, it just heated up to an extent that it turned itself off and would not turn back ON again. And NO, I wasn't charging it, it was on my bed. I took it to HSN under warranty, they said they'll check it and what not. They took 10 days to get back to me, and that too only when I lodged a complain on their website. They now want 2000 bucks for replacing the processor and some other tidbit, they say the warranty only covers repairing and not replacing. I personally think this is absolute ********, I have had phones repaired before from Mobilezone and United Mobile and they've always replaced everything for free under warranty.
I seriousley don't understand what the warranty is about if I have to pay for the repairs.
So what should I do? What options do I have? I certainley don't want to pay them a dime. That's what they're charging extra for, the warranty. I could have gone and bought a cheaper one from the open market but I opted to get this one with a WARRANTY!
Anyone had similar experiences with them?
