oh no problem , in that case , but now u would have to do things the complicated way .
now ,
first inspect your cable .
it has 3 connectors on it or 2 .
if 3.
then
the BLACK one is your master port connector.
the BLUE/GREEn one is your motherboard connector
the middle one /usually white is you slave connector.
in this case , take out your c-rom , look at the back .. ( for the little jumper )
there would be 3 selections master, slave , CS ( cable select )
if it is set to master , pull the jumper and fit it into slave.
then connect your cd rom into the middle connector of your cable.
now your pc should detect it as a slave ...
and this is the last that you can do , .
if it doesnt work try with the black port into the cd-rom. ( blue/green into the mobo . and the black into the CD rom. )
if 2
then just put the blue/green connector in the board , and the other one in the drive , with the drive jumper set to slave. and this is enough. it should work now .
if still it doesnt , then it is a CD ROM failiure definitely.
