I have a car amplifier lying around useless. I was wondering if I can connect it to my 12V UPS battery at home. Do you think its possible?
Here is my plan. Connect the +ve terminal of battery to +ve amplifier battery input and connect battery's -ve terminal to ground terminal of amplifier. I'll connect the Remote IN to 12V +ve. This way the amplifier should turn ON.
Regarding amps, my amplifier has a single 30A fuse, I read online that this means my amp needs approx. 15A to run. The battery should be able to provide that.
Has anyone tried this before? Seems do-able. Im not sure about what will happen when the light is there and 2 things are happening at the same time, UPS charging the battery and amplifier drawing 15A current at the same time. Will it be a problem?
