So i had never been to Murree and at last without thinking of anything, i went. It was on Eid 2013 and it was a disaster! It was sooooo crowded that if i had known, I would have never went! Hotel prices had skyrocketed and I managed to find a hotel for 4500 PKR/- a night. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? It was bad. Small, the sheets didn't look cleaned, and the toilet was out of order so it gave the most sickening scene possible. Furniture was broken and the paint was off the walls. I was lucky though because people were sleeping on the floors of Usmania restaurant! I couldn't even see the streets, as it was so crowded. It was difficult to move even on foot and on cars, the traffic jams here and there made a 5 minute trip an hour long. The taxi charged me 2000 PKR/- to go just to the chair lift on Pindi point! The rust made nothing pleasant on Mall road. There was litter everywhere and the line breakers on the narrow roads made my blood boil. The only fun was going on the chairlift and walking to Kashmir point as not many (but still alot) people were walking. And i couldn't see the Kashmir hills because of the cloud cover. (It wasn't the crowd's fault but still...)
Enough complaining. This thread is made to get help myself and possibly helping others who wanted to go on a trip to Murree. I wanted to know if someone could tell me what the rush is like on winters in the snowfall period. I learn it is not much so there is a possibility to go. If there would be a picture to show what its like from 2010-2012 Then it would benefit alot. And what are hotel prices in that season at larger hotels like Hotel Faran and Hotel Breeze and at smaller hotels like Hotel Al-Sana. Best Hotels in the winter season at Price group: 500-1000 PKR/- at price group 1000-2000 PKR/- and Price group 2000-5000 PKR/-. Please remember the prices are required for the snowfall season only.
Thanks please share your suggestions, information and pictures so they may help travelers.
