Honda face-lifted civic again for coupe version, at LA Auto show 2013.
gets an exterior refresh for 2014. Honda says it revised the grille, hood, fenders, headlights and mirrors; the rear received darker taillights and reshaped bumpers. The result ties the headlights together with a stretched, joining grille; large side openings now dominate the front bumper, too, while the rear has a boxier bumper with horizontal reflectors.
The 2014 Civic coupe and Civic Si coupe have a more aggressive look, a bit more horsepower and Honda has replaced the five-speed automatic transmission with a new continuously variable transmission that will also go into the sedan for the new model year. The CVT improves fuel economy slightly to 30 m.p.g. in the city and 33 m.p.g. combined. The coupes now have new 18-inch wheels and tires. The Si is distinguishable with a slightly different bumper, larger rear spoiler and distinctive air diffusers as well as a stiffer suspension and an extra four horsepower to 205.
A new display audio system is also found on the EX/EX-L trims. The seven-inch capacitive-touch screen, with a matte finish to reduce the annoyance of greasy fingerprint marks, allows users to not only tap once for a function, but to double-tap, slide, flick and pinch - as if they are using a familiar smartphone or tablet. The new infotainment interface not only accepts USB and Bluetooth data exchange, but has also been configured with HDMI for future upgrades. The exterior mirrors are fitted with cameras for Honda's blind spot minimizing Lane-watch system. It is now offered on the Civic Coupe for EX trims and above. Available for sale December 4, 2013.
