a cv joint is a highly stressed sliding slow moving joint. It requires a special lube and is usually sold as CV joint grease, the really old ones had a lot of lead in them too. CVJ grease has about 10% moly in it too.
the tripod joint has needle bearings and requires wheel bearing grease.
If you use CVJ grease in the tripod joint the spider rollers will have stick-slip problems and will wear out the tripod housing.
If you use regular MP grease in CVJ the joints will break down due to the lack of grease performance.
