I recently got a 3S-GE Beams Dual VVT-i wired up, but having serious problems with it. The engine does start up, but idles very rough. This is the least of my worries. The real problem is, that the response is very very slow. For example, if I open the throttle fully, the engine takes about 7-8 secs to start revving up. And when i shut the throttle suddenly, it takes significant amount of time to drop the revs. This is the issue at hand.
A few pointers.
- The O2 sensor is not connected as yet. But everyone says that cant be the issue.
- The fuel pump is from a mercedes, and it is an in-line type. The fuel rail has no return line. I'm doubtful of the fuel pressure too, as this engine requires 60psi.
- There is one vacuum hose which I have no idea what to do with.
People who have worked with Beams, please let me know if you can help. I really need to get this up and running. Experts please help. I have attached a picture of the engine for reference. I am in Lahore, so if anyone can hook me up with an experienced mechanic who knows his work, that would be great too.
