My understanding of your requirements is that the car is to be used a commuter, daily household run, school run, miscellaneous shopping trips in highly congested ladies-cenric shopping areas, most trips within a 10 to 15km radius, a lot of stop-start driving, driven by the driver, yes something which looks presentable and respectable.
Having kept / extensive used (from the office pool) all the cars suggested here I would strongly recommend a Corolla Altis. Having experienced the pros and cons I have actually gotten rid of the other cars we had and kept 2 identical Altis and here are the reasons:
Premio - Great car, expensive parts, climate control got stolen on average once per quarter, first time replacement was 90k, second time as the car got a bit older, 60k, and most recently 55k since our office is now a regular customer. So all in all, prohibitively impractical and there's no way out because in Karachi life without AC is unimaginable, and the entire unit is stolen, we could live with the car not having a navi screen or music but not AC.
Civic - Another great car, again parts are expensive but not prohibitive, smooth drive, great acceleration, pretty thirsty, ride is very hard for our road or perhaps I am just too old and want more comfort. Usually needs strange maintenance like power steering lines develop issues, roof starts rusting from corners, after a certain mileage the electrics start acting funny but I mean 5 years +/-
Corolla - The reason I chose them, tough as nails, the suspension is still good after 125k to 150k Karachi KM which is around when we sell the car, all I normally need to do during the life is replace the bushes, and sometimes the odd shock and suspension component once during the period. Other than that the car gets normal maintenance, driver driven and a high turn over of drivers too, occasionally I forget to change the oil on time (but always use the best oil available), the cars do a long daily circuit across the city over all types of roads, during the monsoons, which I agree are very limited the car does not stall MA, we have been ferried through water up to the headlights, not once but several times and all I need is a good once over by the mechanic and routine maintenance parts replaced at the end of the aqua adventure. Over ruts and broken roads the Corolla is far more comfortable and if you hit that bump or rut you didn't see, it doesn't feel like a total disaster, the car handles it quite well and suspension easily copes with it.
Parts are cheap and plentiful for every budget from new, new 2 number, new Chinese, new Taiwanese, Sir yay Malasia ka hai, Paa jee eh Thailand da haiga, slightly used, very used, locally rebuilt etc everything. And can be found everywhere.
Ultimately it is your decision, but just sharing our experiences with you.
