Hi guys,
Wanted to know if someone has knowledge about the legal facts about the Customs duty on Hobby Items, i purchase diecast car models online for my personal collection and these customs always impose high charges, what they do is impose duty above 20,000pkr so they could have a deal somewhere in the mid under the table, last time i became a victim and paid 6000rs duty whereas the imposed duty was over 18000rs, the officer took the money from me under the table, kept 2k for him, 2k for another officer, 500rs for the sepoy's and 1000rs for the Govt that they declare on the customs sheet.
Now, recently i got a parcel, they assessed the value 600euros and said that the duty should be 40,000rs and i could pay them 20,000rs under the table, this is like a mental torture to me, everytime they are like snatching money from my wallet.
What i want to know is that does any know in depth about the duty structure of the diecast car models (considered as toys) ? These are not for sale and does not have a commercial value at all so as far as i know, there is very slight duty to be charged on them. So i am looking for a legal document that shows the duty that shall be levied on non commercial goods, your help will be appreciated.
Regards
Usman
