Hi,
I am an unfortunate owner of chavy Exclusive. I am not saying unfortunate because the car is bad, but because of what happend to my car. It's a long story and I hope that you do not get bored along the way.
I had purchased a Chevrolet Exclusive in December 2005. I loved the car and still love it. The drive was good, comfortable and economic.
It all started on August 17, 2006 when Karachi had the mightiest of rain in history. I was on MA Jinnah road stuck in the worst traffic jam of the history of Karachi. Near Radio pakistan, a big old tree fell on my car while I was driving. God saved me and I didn't even get a single bruise on my body. The tree fell on the roof. One branch went through rear window and the big branch was residing on the roof denting it a bit. Another branch broke the front windshield. In efforts to get the car out of the tree, we damaged the car further bending the left front pillar and breaking the left side door windows. Finally the car was free at 11 pm. (imagine the tree fell at about 7 pm).
The car was insured so I took it to the chevy showroom and they did the insurance claim etc. They promised to return the car in 15 days that took 26 days. Finally I got the car back as brand new. Everything was fine for five months. AFter that the roof started to crack and corrosion appeared. I got worried and took the car to a known dentor. He told me that the roof was full of pollycat which was not rubbed properly before paint. He asked me Rs. 8000 to fix the roof and the trunk door which was not aligned properly. I agreed. When he removed the cover from inside cabin, you wouldn't believe what we saw. The area of roof that was damaged by the tree was all black due the heat burner. It was all getting rusty because of that. I wish I had known of Pakwheels before so I would have taken pictures of the car at that time. After getting everything fixed I went to the showroom and told them about this and you know what they guy said "Yaar, rah gaya hoga". Can you imagine that?
Later after two months, the pillar started to get rust. I again went to the dentor and sure enough, the pillar was all rusty from inside. They didn't even finish it after heating it up. They guy at the showroom still thinks that he has done a good job. I had to pay about 12000 to get that car fixed again. I have lost the rear defogger because of the showroom guys as they broke the clips from new rear windshield.
I am writing this long story (sorry for no pics) because some of us just think that when a car goes to COMPANY, we get the best service. It's not true in all cases. Please beware of the job done at these authorized dealers.
