about 3 decades back me & my brother started stealing car from home sunday morning
4 sundays later with a flat wheel & scared of cycle ka phaya in trunk smaller cars were parked inside & bigger were parked angled to gate so cannot be pushed by 2 skinny boys.
within next 3 months our father made a decision. He started to take us out in an area about 25 minutes away from our home (in Karachi) at that time now known as Buffer zone the area was kinda haunted under development road was gravelled but not carpeted. Smallest sedan in house was Colt Galant 1500 CC lemon yellow with a black leather pasted on top.
we were given lessons in that isolated area for right of way, approaching intersection and how to maintain track while going around corner. 30 min each with father on passanger seat we change seats from front to rear, then 15 miutes solo ride while 2 stand at highest point to watch indicators used brake applied on intersection etc etc he diligently gave us lesson how to respect other users and manage right of way on road when in traffic, all on an isolated track where bicycle can not be seen in distance everything was assumed and simulated by his soft kind polite voice.
I passed Karachi police written test but it was mandatory to fail twice before getting licence so who cares... I was driving without licence
so far all accidents I have survived were rear ended - I banged my front twice in US Once in UAE (Lincoln MK-X SUV to MALLU's Nissan TIDA in rage because he cut me off without signal and stopped agreeing that he was mistaken he left with damaged bumper before police was dialled prolly he was without insurance or expired regn)
BUT - I swear I HATE 3 wheelers and Bikers they leave home for sucidals or 'Khon baha claim plan in mind' with no shame & no patience.
using road is a whole subject in driver's education which does not exist in Pakistan.
we shall educate our Generation-Next ( gen-x ) for civilised use of road while driving a car or a 2 wheeler.
