it doesnt matter ......... what size of engine u have ....i have 4600CC mustang and a 2000 integra which is 1800CC ..... both have intake ....purpose
The air intake is one of the most common upgrades done to any import car. In order for the gasoline to be burned inside of the engine, air must be present. The air intake takes air from outside of the engine, and puts it inside the cylinders. A stock intake is usually a short plastic hose with an air filter on the end. The air filter makes sure no debris or harmful particles enter the engine. The reason stock intakes are often replaced is for two reasons. The first reason is that both the tubing and the filter can be restrictive and not allow enough air to enter the engine. The second reason is that since the filter is usually located on top of the engine, hot air is sucked in. Since hot air expands greater then cold air, less oxygen is let into the engine. A cold air intake takes cold air from places further away from the engine bay, such as behind the wheel well, allowing denser colder air to enter the cylinders for a larger explosion.
